Last updated: January 19, 2026
Why the numbers may look different
It’s common to see small differences between StoreHero and Shopify sales figures. In most cases, this is expected and does not mean the data is wrong.
1. What each platform includes
StoreHero Net Sales
Includes shipping revenue
Excludes tax
Includes discounts and refunds
Designed to reflect revenue that actually hits your bank account
Shopify Net Sales
Excludes shipping
Excludes tax
Includes discounts and refunds
Because shipping is treated differently, StoreHero Net Sales may appear slightly higher than Shopify Net Sales.
2. How StoreHero calculates sales
StoreHero includes shipping in Total Sales and Net Sales
Shipping costs are deducted separately
Taxes are excluded from Net Sales
This approach helps produce more accurate profitability and cash-flow reporting
3. Returns vs refunds timing
Shopify may show a return immediately
StoreHero reflects the refund once it’s processed (often 1–3 days later)
This timing difference can cause short-term daily or monthly discrepancies
These usually balance out over time.
4. Sync and timing differences
Shopify MTD includes today
StoreHero typically reports up to yesterday
Timezone differences or overnight syncing can cause temporary gaps
Most sync differences resolve within 24 hours
5. What should match (or be very close)
Total Sales in StoreHero should match Shopify within 1–2%
Net Sales are typically ~99.5% aligned when comparing like-for-like date ranges
