Orders Overview
Last updated: November 4, 2025
This tool goes beyond what standard sales channel dashboards offer by allowing you to understand the profitability of individual orders in detail, helping you optimise your business operations.
Order Profitability Analysis
Detailed Order Information
The Orders page displays a table listing all orders placed within a specific time period. The table includes details such as customer name, source, cost, and fulfilment status.
Profitability Metrics
Unlike standard dashboards, StoreHero automatically calculates the gross profit and gross profit margin for each order. This calculation considers taxes, discounts, shipping, fulfilment, transaction fees, and the underlying product costs for each item in the order.
Identify Profit Extremes
The page highlights orders with extreme profitability metrics, whether high or low, allowing you to quickly identify orders that may be negatively impacting your margins. For example, a combination of discounts, free shipping, and international shipping costs might result in unprofitable orders.
Customisable Filters and Views
Filter by Profitability
You can create custom filters to view only profitable or unprofitable orders. This allows for quick assessments of your business performance.
Additional Filters
The platform also allows filtering by various factors such as combined cost values (e.g., tax), order tags, and order source (e.g., POS, online store, TikTok Shop). This flexibility ensures you can drill down into the specific data that matters most to your business.
Saved Views
Once you define a filter, you can save it for easy access later. This feature is particularly useful for recurring analyses or monitoring specific aspects of your operations regularly.
Group By Functionality
Predefined Views
StoreHero includes predefined views that allow you to group orders by country, region, or other criteria. These views save time and help you identify trends or issues without needing to create filters from scratch.
Regional Profit Analysis
For example, you can group orders by country to analyse the profitability of different regions. This is useful if you notice that certain countries generate a high volume of sales but low profit due to factors like product mix, shipping costs, or discounts required to enter a new market.
Actionable Insights
Optimise Shipping and Discount Strategies
By identifying unprofitable orders, you can adjust your shipping policies, discount strategies, or target markets to improve overall profitability.
Monitor Order Sources
Use filters to analyse the performance of different order sources, such as POS systems or online stores, and make data-driven decisions to optimise each channel.
How to Use the Orders Page
Review Orders Table
Start by reviewing the table of orders, paying particular attention to the profitability metrics displayed for each order. This gives you a quick overview of how well your orders are performing in terms of profit.
Apply Filters
Use the custom filters to narrow down the orders you want to focus on. For instance, filter for unprofitable orders to identify trends or specific issues that need addressing.
Save Views for Efficiency
Once you've set up filters that provide valuable insights, save these views for easy access in future analyses. This will streamline your workflow and ensure consistency in your monitoring efforts.
Use Group By for Regional Analysis
If you're operating in multiple regions, use the Group By functionality to assess the profitability of different markets. This can help you refine your marketing, pricing, and shipping strategies to maximise profit in each region.
Take Action on Insights
Based on the data, make informed decisions to optimise your order processing, adjust discounts, or target specific regions more effectively. The goal is to enhance profitability across all orders.
