Store Overview
Last updated: November 4, 2025
This report is more advanced than standard dashboards like those from Shopify, WooCommerce, or Magento because it incorporates underlying costs to calculate profitability on either a gross or net basis.
Customisable Metrics
Metrics Dropdown
In the top right corner, you’ll find a dropdown menu that allows you to select and customise the metrics displayed on your overview report. This feature ensures you can focus on the data most relevant to your business or role.
Performance and Date Range Adjustments
You can adjust the date range to view metrics for a specific period. Options include fixed time periods, custom ranges, and comparisons against previous periods (daily, weekly, monthly) or the previous year. This flexibility allows you to track trends over different timeframes.
Grouping and Charting
Metric Grouping
Metrics can be grouped by day, week, or month, making it easier to analyze performance over extended periods. This is particularly useful for spotting longer-term trends.
Interactive Performance Charts
Below the scorecards, you’ll find interactive charts that display sales, orders, and total cost performance. You can toggle different metrics on or off to see how they interact and change over the selected period.
Comprehensive Sales and Profitability Metrics
Total and Net Sales
The report includes standard sales metrics like total sales, taxes, and net sales, giving you a clear picture of your store’s revenue.
Gross Profit
The report also provides gross profit calculations, which can be viewed alongside other metrics to understand your store's profitability.
Metric Definitions
Hovering over each metric provides a definition, helping you understand what each metric represents. Additionally, StoreHero offers a separate video and article that explain the calculations behind these metrics for deeper understanding.
Cost Breakdown
Percentage Breakdown of Costs
The cost breakdown feature shows how your net sales are distributed across different cost centres, such as product costs, fulfilment, and packaging fees. This is presented as a percentage of your total sales.
Identifying Cost Alignment
By analysing these percentages, you can determine whether your costs are aligned with expectations. For example, if product costs represent 23.9% of total sales, you can assess whether this aligns with your profit goals or if adjustments are needed.
Spotlight Section
Target Identifications
The Spotlight section highlights key performance areas, such as:
Biggest Mover: The product that has seen the largest percentage increase in sales compared to the previous period.
Top Seller: The product that sold the most in terms of volume.
Top Customers: The customer who made the largest purchase by sales volume.
Actionable Insights
These insights help you quickly identify successful products and key customers, allowing you to focus your efforts on the most impactful areas of your business.
