Why do my Cost of Goods in StoreHero not match Shopify?

StoreHero calculates costs more comprehensively than Shopify. Shopify only counts the product costs for any products that have costs defined.

StoreHero adds shipping, transaction fees, fulfilment costs and a fallback product margin for any products that don't have a cost assigned.

Notes / Best Practices:

• Shopify may underreport COGS if only products with defined costs are included.

• StoreHero provides a more complete cost representation.

• Costs are not automatically backfilled to preserve historical data integrity but this can be done on request.
